VALPARAISO, Ind. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – Freshman Taylor Totka (Racine, Wis.) returned to form with a team-high nine kills on Saturday afternoon, but visiting Green Bay was unable to get past Valparaiso in Horizon League volleyball action at the Athletics and Recreation Center. The Crusaders posted a 25-18, 25-23, 25-21 victory over the Phoenix.
Totka and fellow freshman Lydia DeWeese (Columbus, Ohio) combined for 14 kills to lead the Phoenix offense, with junior Emily Riese (Fond du Lac, Wis.) totaling 25 assists.
Junior Taylor Kasal (Westmont, Ill.) led the defense with 15 digs while junior libero Jillian Bauer (Verona, Wis.) tallied 11 digs.
The Phoenix will return to action on Friday night at the Kress Events Center, welcoming Milwaukee at 7 p.m.
