By: Joey Daniels (@GBJoeyD)

GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – After earning a quality draw on Wednesday, the Green Bay men's soccer team fell 2-0 on the road on Saturday night at Oakland in conference action. The Phoenix fall to 3-4-3 overall and 0-1-1 in Horizon League play.

The Phoenix was playing in its first road conference game of the year and was unable to find the back of the net for just the second time this season. Oakland scored the go-ahead goal in the 16th minute before adding its second in the 85th minute, putting the game out of reach late.

Green Bay put one shot on goal and threatened throughout the contest before suffering its first defeat since Sept. 19. Junior goalkeeper Dani Alvarado (Leander, Tex.) recorded six saves in the contest, while letting in two goals.

The Phoenix did create five corner kicks to Oakland's two.

Green Bay will look to bounce back when it visits Wisconsin next Tuesday (Oct. 7) for a 7 p.m. start time.
