GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – Green Bay junior guard Keifer Sykes (Chicago, Ill.) has been nominated for the GEICO Play of the Year, Intersport announced today. On Jan. 19, Sykes threw down a monster dunk on an alley-oop play designed by head coach Brian Wardle. Sykes' dunk not only earned him national acclaim, it tied the game at 63 and the Phoenix went on to win 69-64 at UIC.

Week six voting which includes Sykes incredible dunk opened today and ends Monday, February 24th, at 11:59 a.m. Fans can vote once daily and are also encouraged to share their votes with their Facebook friends.
Each week for eight weeks, four incredible college basketball plays will be nominated as the GEICO Play of the Year. The eight finalists will compete in a week-long competition to determine the GEICO Play of the Year. The winner will be announced during the GEICO Best of College Basketball special which airs March 29 at 1 p.m. on CBS.
Sykes and Green Bay return home this week, hosting Valparaiso on Thursday night at 7 p.m. at the Resch Center.
