HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – Sophomore Sammi Grunder (Pardeeville, Wis.) carded a 79 on Sunday as the Green Bay women's golf team concluded play at the 2014 Horizon League Championships at Mission Inn Resort.
Green Bay finished the 54-hole tournament at the 5,975-yard, par-73 Las Colinas Course in seventh place with a team score of 989 (328-332-329). Led by individual medalist Lindsey Lammers, Detroit won the team title with a three-day total of 943 (317-315-311).
Freshman Avery Steen (Luck, Wis.), who carded the field's best round on Saturday, shot an 83 on Sunday to lead the Phoenix in a tie for 15th place (84-75-83=242).
Sophomore Steph Laude (Slinger, Wis.) finished the tournament tied for 22nd (81-81-84=246) while Grunder was two shots behind in a tie for 24th place (82-87-79=248).
Senior Molly Fassbinder (Hudson, Wis.) concluded her Phoenix career with a round of 83 and finished in 31st place (81-92-83=256) and sophomore Katie Pokrandt (Eau Claire, Wis.) rounded out the Phoenix golfers in 34th place (86-89-93=268).
