SILVIS, Ill. – The Green Bay golf teams wrapped up their rounds at the Western Illinois Intercollegiate at TPC Deere Run on Friday, with the women taking first and the men finishing in fourth place.
The Phoenix women bested Western Illinois, led by
Riley Pechinski, who finished in the top spot individually, shooting rounds of 73, 75, and 73.
Ellie Frisch and
Jordan Shipshock rounded out the top three on the leaderboard, with Frisch just a stroke behind Pechinski and Shipshock two strokes behind.
The Phoenix men were led by
Mason Haupt, who closed out the tournament on Friday with a 69. Haupt shot 73 and 76 in the event's first two rounds. Haupt finished 10th in the event individually.
Yinta Yang did not compete under the Green Bay team this week, but had a solid three rounds as well, firing off rounds of 76, 75, 72, good for 16th individually.
The Phoenix men will be right back in action on Monday at the NKU Spring Julie Invitational, which will be played at Elks Run GC. The women will next compete at the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational hosted by Bowling Green at Stone Ridge GC in Bowling Green, Ohio, on April 11-12.
