By: Joey Daniels (@GBJoeyD)

GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – The Green Bay men's soccer team was handed a 3-1 defeat on the road at Drake on Friday night, dropping its record to 1-2-0 on the season.

The Phoenix surrendered three first half goals to the host Bulldogs and couldn't find the goal-scoring opportunities they found against DePaul in its last contest. Drake scored goals in the fourth minute, 22nd minute and 39th minute of the first half. The Bulldogs scored three goals in three shots on goal in the first half of action.

Tyler Swanner (Glen Carbon, Ill.) scored the lone goal of the night for the Phoenix, when he powered home a free kick following a foul call on Drake. The goal is the first for Swanner this season and it came in the 84th minute.

The two teams played a competitive second half, with the Phoenix scoring the only goal of the half.

The stats were fairly even on the night, with GB outshooting the Bulldogs on goal 6-5. Green Bay logged nine corner kicks to Drake's three.

Green Bay returns to the pitch on Sunday (Sept. 7) when it travels to Western Illinois for a noon kickoff.
