GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – Moving its record back to the .500 mark on the season, the Green Bay men's soccer team escaped with a 1-0 victory on Sunday afternoon at Western Illinois.
After an even first half, sophomore standout Audi Jepson (Green Bay, Wis.) gave the Phoenix its first lead of the weekend with a goal in the 70th minute. Green Bay held a 6-5 shots on goal advantage, while Western Illinois took eight corner kicks to Green Bay's four.
Dani Alvarado (Leander, Tex.) picked up the clean sheet in goal, his second of the season, in his first game back from a red card. Alvarado had five saves in the game.
Green Bay now returns home to host Viterbo this Friday (Sept. 12) at 4 p.m.
