INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – Green Bay junior Avery Steen (Luck, Wis.), climbed seven spots on the leaderboard in the final round at the Butler Fall Invitational on Tuesday. Steen shot a three-over par 73 to pace the Phoenix with a tie for 11th place.
Senior Sammi Grunder (Pardeeville, Wis.), made a final-round push of her own, jumping five spots Tuesday to finish in a tie for 24th place. Grunder improved two strokes on her opening round score by carding a 78 in the final round.
Fellow senior Steph Laude (Slinger, Wis.), finished in a tie for 29th, carding a 79 in round one and following up with a final-round score of 80 on Tuesday.
Green Bay finished in seventh place in the ten-team field.
The Phoenix will wrap up fall play at the Whistling Straits Intercollegiate in Sheboygan, Wis. on Oct. 12-13. Both the Green Bay men's and women's squads will compete in the tournament being hosted by Loyola.
