GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – For the first time in his career, Green Bay senior forward Jordan Fouse (Racine, Wis.) was recognized as the Horizon League Player of the Week after leading the team in points, rebounds, steals and blocks from Nov. 30 - Dec. 6, the league office announced on Monday.
Fouse stuffed the stat-sheet in the Phoenix's 87-69 win at SIUE, scoring a career-high 22 points on 8-of-16 shooting, including six rebounds, six assists and a team-high four blocks. With his six rebounds, he surpassed Alec Brown for third on the all-time rebounds list.
The Racine native followed up his career effort with his third double-double of the season on Sunday against Toledo, recording team bests in points (15) and rebounds (13), along with a season-high-tying five steals. The 6-foot-7 forward also connected on a career-high three 3-point field goals.
As of Dec. 7, Fouse is currently one of 12 Division I players to average a double-double (12.6 PPG, 10.0 RPG) through his team's first eight games. Among those 12, he is one of eight from non-Power Five programs.
The award is the second Horizon League honor in Fouse's career, and his first since being named the Newcomer of the Week on Jan. 21, 2013. It also marks Green Bay's second Player of the Week this season, after Carrington Love received recognition on Nov. 16.
The Phoenix (4-4) will begin a nine-day hiatus before returning to the Resch Center for the second of a three-game home stand on Dec. 15 against Pacific (1-6). Green Bay faces UW-Superior on Dec. 20 before its in-state showdown against the Wisconsin Badgers on Dec. 23 at the Kohl Center.
