GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – Green Bay women's basketball will face two opponents it has never played before when it takes part in the 2015 Paradise Jam in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Green Bay is part of the Island Division of the women's tournament, which also includes Rutgers, Tulane and Virginia. The Phoenix has never faced the Scarlet Knights or the Green Wave in program history, and has faced the Cavaliers only once, a 69-67 win in the first round of the 2010 NCAA Tournament.

The three-day event will be played at the UVI Sports and Fitness Center on the campus of the University of the Virgin Islands and will run Nov. 26-28. Green Bay will face Virginia in the first game of the tournament on Nov. 26 at 12 p.m. CST. The Phoenix will face Tulane Nov. 27 at 12 p.m., and will round out play with a game against Rutgers on Nov. 28 at 2:15 p.m. Each team will play a total of three games in pool format. This will be Green Bay's first competitive trip to the Virgin Islands in program history.

“Participating in these destination tournaments affords us the opportunity to play against BCS type schools on a neutral floor,” said Green Bay head coach Kevin Borseth. “In the long run it helps to strengthen our schedule in the event we are competing for an at-large bid at the end of the season. While we prefer to bring these types of opponents to the Kress, it also allows our program to play against the bigger conference schools and test the strength of our team.”
