GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – The Green Bay men's soccer team played host to Northern Kentucky in its regular-season finale this afternoon, needing a win to keep its hopes of postseason play alive. Thomas McCormack was the first to score in the match, with his shot deflecting off the Norse keeper and into the net to collect a 1-0 lead for Green Bay in the 42nd minute.
The Phoenix added another goal in the 66th minute, when Tomer Zloczower buried his shot into the Norse net after having the ball centered to him from Marcos Bautista, increasing Green Bay's lead to two goals. The Norse added one goal in the 89th minute but was unable to pull even with the Phoenix, giving Green Bay its fourth victory in league play.
The Phoenix will now travel to Rochester, Mich., for a matchup with Oakland in the first round of the Horizon League Tournament on Monday.
