VALPARAISO, Ind. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – Closing out the weekend road trip at the ARC in Valparaiso, Ind., the Phoenix took the floor against Valparaiso on the Crusaders'(8-18, 4-11) Senior Day. Green Bay (23-2, 13-1) jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, working to a 71-35 victory to close out the road trip.

Green Bay took command of the game early, burying three three-pointers in the first two minutes, 47 seconds to jump out to a 9-2 lead over the Crusaders. Green Bay finished the first quarter with five triples and led Valparaiso 20-8, with sophomore Allie LeClaire leading the way with an early six points.

After suffering a slow start in the second, Green Bay began to pour it in once again in the final two minutes leading up to halftime, scoring nine points, five of which were contributed by LeClaire to bring her halftime total to 11, to lead the Crusaders 35-15 at the half.

Green Bay continued its offensive success in the second half, outscoring Valparaiso 36-20 in the final 20 minutes of play to secure a 71-35 victory.

The Phoenix finished with a season-high 22 assists on 27 baskets in the contest, besting the previous season high of 21 against Dayton on Dec. 30. As a team, Green Bay shot 27-for-56 (48.2%) from the field and held Valparaiso to just 12-of-34 (35.3%).

LeClaire led all scorers with 17 points on Saturday afternoon at the ARC on 6-of-11 shooting and a 5-of-9 performance from long range. LeClaire also collected two rebounds, two assists and a steal in 28 minutes.
