GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – Green Bay senior women's golfer Sammi Grunder (Pardeeville, Wis.), was named Horizon League Women's Golfer of the Week, the League announced Tuesday.
Grunder was the top finisher when the Phoenix took on Valparaiso over the weekend. She shot a 76, 80, 75 to win medalist honors, with her first and final round scores besting the field. It marked the third top-five finish for Grunder this spring, and the weekly award from the League was the second of her Green Bay career. She previously won Golfer of the Week in the spring of 2015.
“All of Sammi's hard work and dedication this spring has really started to pay off,” said Green Bay head golf coach Lee Reinke. “We both have high hopes going into the Horizon League Championship.”
The Phoenix will next take part in the League Championship in Orlando, Florida, April 22-24.
