PEORIA, Ill. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – Green Bay women's golf played 18 less holes than it planned to at the Bradley Invitational on Saturday and Sunday. The competition was scheduled for three 18-hole rounds, but 50 mile-per-hour winds suspended play in the first round after a tree was blown over on the course. The weather delay resulted in the tournament being a total of 36 holes.
Green Bay was led by senior Sammi Grunder (Pardeeville, Wis.), and junior Avery Steen (Luck, Wis.), who both tied for 34th place as individuals. Senior Steph Laude (Slinger, Wis.), made the hardest charge in the second round, carding a 78 and finishing in a tie for 49th. Green Bay finished in 13th place as a team.
The Phoenix will get right back at it this weekend when it travels to Valparaiso, Ind., to take part in the Valparaiso Match Play event on April 9 and 10. It will be the final event of the regular season for Green Bay, as it will then travel to Orlando, Fla., to compete at the Horizon League Championships on April 22-24.
