Molly Vandervest Promoted to Assistant AD for Development

GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – Molly Vandervest has been promoted to the Assistant AD for Development with Green Bay Athletics, Director of Athletics Mary Ellen Gillespie announced on Friday.

“This is a very well deserved promotion for Molly,” said Gillespie.  “She has taken our events to a whole new level and has been an integral key to our Phoenix Fund success.  From the day she arrived on campus she has been a team player, relationship builder and an incredibly hard worker.  She is more than ready to take on this role and I could not be more excited for her and for Green Bay Athletics.”

As the Assistant AD for Development, Vandervest will be responsible for the creation and execution of an advancement plan to increase both donors and gifts to the Phoenix Fund.

Vandervest steps into the role after shining in her previous position as the Assistant Director of Development for Green Bay Athletics the previous two years. She aided the development team in raising record amounts of funding for the athletics department in consecutive years.

Vandervest executed all fundraising events including the Phoenix Packers Steak Fry which grew revenue by 183% from $82,710 in 2014 to $234,315 in 2016. She was also responsible for creating a new former athlete organization called Varsity GB in 2016. Vandervest recruited members for and coordinated the Former Athlete Advisory Committee (FAAC) with ten founding members in 2016, as well as aided in the 2016 Green Bay Athletics Hall of Fame Induction events which marked the first class since 2011.

“I truly enjoyed the past two years in the athletics department and am excited for what this next chapter will bring,” said Vandervest. “The fans and supporters of Green Bay Athletics are like no other, and I am looking forward to continue working with them to build on the successes of the last few years.”

A native of De Pere, Vandervest graduated in 2004 from Wisconsin with a bachelor's degree in journalism-strategic communications. She was named the 2009 “Young Professional of the Year” and received the 2010 “Spirit of Current Award” from the Current Young Professional Network and was named the 2013 UW-Madison Brown County Alumni “Badger of the Year.”
