YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Green Bay volleyball team made quick work of Youngstown State on Friday night, winning 3-0 to pick up its second-straight win in Horizon Leage play at the Beeghly Center. The Phoenix (110, 6-3 HL) won 25-15, 25-20 and 25-22 to improve to 6-3 in HL play this season, keeping the Penguins (7-16, 0-9 HL) winless in the proccess.
Green Bay made an early statement by jumping out to a quick 10-4 lead in the first set, after
Roberta Todda smashed down one of her career-high 16 kills in the match. YSU tried to come back after forcing the score to 21-15, but four different GB players earned kills to wrap up the 25-15 first set win.

Lydia DeWeese,
Jessica Wolf and
Taylor Wolf each notched a kill to close out the set, getting off to a strong 1-0 start on the road.
The Penguins came out swinging in the second set, getting out to a 5-0 lead in the second set before head coach
Sean Burdette burned a timeout to stop the run. GB found itself down 17-14 midway through the second set, but the team rallied quickly for a 5-0 run to take the lead it would never give back. T. Wolf eventually landed the set-winning kill, giving her team the 2-0 lead heading into intermission.
YSU tried to claw back late in the third set, but Green Bay was able to clutch up and earn its first HL road win of the season, escaping with the 25-22 third set win.
Todd led the Phoenix with 16 kills, while the Wolf sisters combined for 24 kills in the match. Austyn Everingham registered season highs in kills (1), assists (2) and most importantly with 18 digs defensively.
The Phoenix will now turn its attention to Oakland for a Saturday afternoon affair at the O'Rena. The Golden Grizzlies fell in five sets to Milwaukee on Friday night. First serve is set for 3 p.m. CT.
