As the Horizon League slate winds down, Green Bay sits atop the table with 16 points at 5-1-1, followed closely by Wright State at 4-2 with 15 points. With a Phoenix win and a Raiders loss/tie tomorrow night, Green Bay will clinch at least a share of its first-ever Horizon League regular season title.
The Phoenix boasts the top scoring offense in the league and average the second most assists per game (1.54) and points per game (4.77). Jepson leads the Phoenix offense in game-winning goals (3), goals per game (0.73), points per game (1.91), and total points (21). The redshirt senior has scored eight goals and tallied five assists on the season.
Belmont is coming off a 1-0 loss to Oakland last Saturday. The Bruins had many offensive chances in the match, but were unable to convert. The Golden Grizzlies scored in the 86
th minute which would prove to be the game winner.
The Bruins lead the Horizon League in corner kicks per game with 6.29, a mark that is the 17
th best in the NCAA. Belmont has taken 88 corner kicks and held their opponents to 65.
The programs are tied at 1-1-1 all-time. Most recently, the squads played to a double overtime scoreless draw at E.S. Rose Park in Nashville, Tenn.
