Small Scores Career-High 29 as Green Bay Beats Rockford 108-64

GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) --- Khalil Small scored a career-high 29 points and Green Bay cruised past Rockford 108-64 on Monday night at the Resch Center, improving to 5-6 on the season and 5-1 at home. The Phoenix scored 100 points for the first time since Dec. 22 of 2016 and tied its season high with 11 made 3-pointers, along with grabbing a season-high 19 steals.
 
Small, who came in leading the team with 14.6 PPG, scored 21 of his 29 points in the first half. Small knocked down 5 of his 9 3-point attempts, while finishing two rebounds shy of a double-double. The 29 points scored by Small are the most points scored a GB player since Carrington Love scored 39 points against YSU in Feb. 2016.

GB had five players finish in double-figures for the second-straight game, as PJ Pipes also netted a career-high with 16 points. Pipes added eight assists and four steals, knocking down a pair of 3s.

Kameron Hankerson scored 14 points, while TJ Parham added 12 points and Hunter Crist finished with 11. Hankerson has now reached double-figures in seven games this season.

The Phoenix finished above 50 percent shooting for the third time this season, while attempting a season-high 77 shots. It also racked up a career-high 24 assists, and scored 49 points off 29 Rockford turnovers.
The GB bench scored 36 points and scored 21 second-chance points.

Manny Patterson finished with 9 points and 9 rebounds, while Trevian Bell added 8 points of his own.

Rockford took an early 7-0 lead, but Green Bay scored 24 of the next 33 points and eventually scored 59 points in the first half.

GB will play its third home game in a row on Thursday night when it plays host to Bowling Green for a 6 p.m. tip at the Resch Center. Seymour native Sandy Cohen III will finally be eligible to play in his first game as a member of the Phoenix on Thursday.
