GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – The Green Bay men's soccer team closed out it first official weekend of the regular season with Western Illinois (0-2-0) at home on Sunday afternoon. The Leathernecks managed to find the net first and lead things 1-0 at the break, but a strong second half in which the Phoenix (1-0-1) would net four goals, two of which came from senior
Audi Jepson, helped capture a 4-3 victory for Green Bay.
Jamison Yoder received the start in the net for the Phoenix and recorded five saves despite allowing three goals, two of which came from penalty kicks.
Tomer Zloczower led the Phoenix with five shots in the match and placed four of them on-goal while managing to find the back of the net once on the afternoon.
Marcos Bautista tallied his first goal of the season as well on Sunday and notched a pair of assists.
The four-goal effort is the most by a Phoenix squad since the 2014 season when the squad poured in eight goals against Viterbo. There were a total of six cards given out during the hard-fought match, four of which were distributed to Green Bay.

33' | WIU | Fernando Pacheco (Penalty kick): After a foul committed in the box on a Leathernecks' corner, Pacheco was granted a PK and made the keeper guess wrong to collect a 1-0 lead for Western Illinois.

Audi Jepson (Assist:
Robleh Omar): Omar worked from the right side of the net towards the center before eventually finding Jepson with space, who then shot near side and sent the ball into the goal after it deflected off a defender.
62' | WIU | Drew Whalen (Unassisted): Whalen charged past the Phoenix backline and began working left of the net. Yoder charged out of the net for Green Bay in hopes of making a stop but Whalen managed to chip it over and into Green Bay's net to collect another lead for Western Illinois, 2-1.

Marcos Bautista (Assist:
Tomer Zloczower): Zloczower center the ball from the corner and after one bounce, Bautista collected it and shot high on the left side of the net to beat the keeper and pull the Phoenix even once again.
72' | WIU | Ben Fiddes (Penalty kick): A hand ball by the Phoenix would grant the Leathernecks their second PK of the match and yet another lead after Fiddes was able to beat the keeper right.

Marcos Bautista): Bautista was able to draw enough defensive attention on the left side before pushing the ball to the rigtht for an open Jepson to score his second goal of the match.

Tomer Zloczower (Assist:
Marcos Bautista): With the game tied and the Leathernecks still resetting after the recent goal, Green Bay once again went on the attack as Bautista pushed the ball from midfield through WIU's backline to find an open Zloczower for a one-on-one with the keeper. Zloczower found the net and collected the first Phoenix lead of the match, one it would not surrender the remainder of the match.
