Women's Soccer Falls 2-0 at Southeast Missouri State

GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – The Green Bay women's soccer team closed out its weekend road trip at Southeast Missouri State (3-1), taking on the Redhawks in Cape Girardeau, Mo., at Houck Field. The Phoenix (0-4) was unable to get on the board in the matchup, eventually falling 2-0.
 
The Redhawks' offense was firing on all cylinders this afternoon, as the squad posted 29 shots with 17 ending on goal compared to Green Bay's four shots and one on goal. Madison Holland (0-2) suffered the loss in goal for Green Bay. Holland played 31 minutes before leaving the field with an injury. She made three saves but gave up both SEMO goals. Courtney Klatt replaced Holland for the final 59 minutes and amassed 10 saves.

GOAL SUMMARY
19' | SEMO | Esmie Gonzales (Assist: Maddi Karstens): The Phoenix committed a foul in the 19th minute. Karstens took the free kick from about 50 yards out, bent it into the keeper's box to a waiting Gonzales who headed it over the keeper and into the back of net.

32' | SEMO | Lexi Grote (Unassisted): Gozales tried for another goal but her shot was saved by the Holland who came out of goal. Grote picked up the rebound and scored into the empty net, increasing the advantage to 2-0.
