GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – Green Bay women's soccer faced off with Indiana State tonight to open its weekend action. The Sycamores (3-1-1) managed to find the net twice in the second half to defeat the Phoenix (0-5-0) 2-0 and record their first road victory of the season.

The first half of play proved to be a battle of the defenses with Green Bay owning a 5-3 advantage in shots, with only one being on goal. Indiana State was able to block multiple shots along with preventing the Phoenix from breaking through the backline.

The Phoenix owned a 15-7 advantage in shots but was bested by Indiana State in shots on-goal, 6-4. Despite the two-goal deficit, the Phoenix provided the Sycamores with a competitive match on Friday night as each squad recorded three corner kicks.
 
GOAL SUMMARY
69' | ISU | Jensen Margheim (Assists: Katie Sidloski, Jazlyn Rowan): Working the ball towards the center of the box from the right corner, Rowan's pass found Sidloski who was able to free up Margheim enough to place a shot on the Phoenix net that bounced past the keeper after a deflection.
 
76' | ISU | Katie Sidloski (Assist: Caitlyn Eddy): After being awarded the corner from the left side of the net, Eddy sent a kick to the far side of the net where Sidloski was waiting to rise above the defense and bury a header into the Green Bay goal.
