Men's Soccer Wins Overtime Thriller at Wright State, 2-1

DAYTON, Ohio (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – The Green Bay men's soccer team headed to Dayton, Ohio to take the field against Wright State, the only other team with two wins in league play. The Phoenix found itself down early, but goals from Audi Jepson and Brady Lenius secured the double-overtime victory at Alumni Field on Saturday night, 2-1.

The Raiders found the back of the Phoenix net in the 67th minute to gain a 1-0 advantage and force Green Bay to play from behind. Just over 10 minutes later, Jepson, like he has all season, went on the attack and buried a header into the Wright State net off a cross from Buran Huseini, collecting his league-leading sixth goal of the season.

The remainder of regulation offered opportunites for both squads but with both defenses prevailing, the match was headed to overtime. The first bonus period allowed each team only a single shot and no goals. As time dwindled away in the final overtime period, Green Bay's continued attacking efforts were rewarded with a goal from Brady Lenius in the 108th minute, securing a tough road win, 2-1, over Wright State.

Green Bay is the only team in the league to have secured a victory in each of its first three conference matches.

GOAL SUMMARY

67' | WRST | Luke Treadway (Assist: Zach Burgmeier): Treadway found his first goal of the season in the 67th minute after Burgmeier found Treadway in the 67th minute to help grant the Raiders a 1-0 advantage.

81' | GB | Audi Jepson (Assist: Buran Huseini): A pinpoint cross from Huseini found Jepson's head and was perfectly redirected into the Raiders' net for the equalizer. The goal was Jepson's sixth of the season and fourth in the three-game league slate.

108' | GB | Brady Lenius (Assist: Tomer Zloczower, Audi Jepson): Needing a goal with time winding down, Zloczower dished to Jepson at the top of the box who was then able to flick it back to Zloczower attacking on the right and after drawing defenders, he centered the ball to Lenius for the game-winning goal. Green Bay moved to a perfect 3-0 in Horizon League play on Lenius' second goal of the season.
