CINCINNATI, Ohio (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – The Green Bay men's soccer team battled Cincinnati on Tuesday night at Gettler Stadium, falling to the Bearcats (5-3-1) 2-0 after a strong effort on both ends. The Phoenix (4-2-2) owned 13-9 advantage in shots on the evening but was unable to find the back of the net in the match.
"We played 89:30 of very good soccer," head coach
Jeremy Bonomo said. "Those 30 seconds were the difference tonight. We need to understand that our team needs to be physically and mentally ready to play from start to finish. It was a winnable game tonight and there were ample opportunities but we didn't do enough and Cincinnati did, period."
Green Bay's attacking efforts also earned a pair of corners, while the defense allowed none to Cincinnati. Green Bay's two-game winning streak was snapped, but the Phoenix will look to bounce back when the squad welcomes Oakland to Aldo Santaga Stadium on Saturday night.
