GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) --- For the second time this year, the Horizon League announced Green Bay senior Vanessa Buman as the Defensive Player of the Week on Monday morning.

Buman led Green Bay with 52 digs over two matches played throughout the weekend, helping the Phoenix to defeat both Milwaukee on Saturday and UIC on Sunday. Green Bay is now 3-1 in the conference, standing in third place behind Cleveland State and Northern Kentucky.

The native of Greenville, Wisconsin currently ranks third in the Horizon League in digs per set, with 5.00 overall during the entire season and an impressive 5.88 in league-only play.

This upcoming weekend, Buman and the Phoenix will compete in their first home match of the 2018-19 season, taking on Oakland at 6:00 p.m. Friday night. On Sunday, the team will be on the road again, facing Wright State at 1:00 p.m. CT.

This marks the second career Horizon League Player of the Week honor for Buman.
