VERMILLION, SD. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) --- The Green Bay women's basketball team rounded out its trip to South Dakota on Saturday afternoon, falling to the Coyotes 55-49 at the Sanford Coyote Sports Center.
Green Bay finished with more made field goals in the matchup, but the Coyotes benefited from a 25-for-30 performance at the line. The Phoenix defense also forced 23 turnovers in the matchup and surrendered only 12.
Frankie Wurtz led GB's scoring efforts with 16 points, finishing 5-of-13 from the field and sinking a pair of three-pointers in 35 minutes.
The Phoenix will have a break from game action until next Saturday when the team welcomes Wisconsin to the Kress Center for a 1 p.m. tip-off. The game will feature a halftime wiener dog race as well as the DigiCopy Trading Card Giveaway.
