ShanQuan Hemphill has been named Nike Horizon League Co-Player of the Week. Hemphill will share the award with Northern Kentucky's Drew McDonald, the second time this season a GB player has shared with McDonald
ShanQuan Hemphill, who goes by the nickname Tank, led Green Bay to a perfect 2-0 week with impressive wins over Northern Illinois (85-83) and Belmont (100-92) in nonconference action. The high-flying forward averaged a team-best 21.0 PPG and 6.5 RPG in the two home victories, shooting just over 73 percent (19-for-26) from the field. He poured in a career-high 25 points and notched his first career double-double with 10 rebounds against NIU, and followed that performance with 17 points against undefeated Belmont. He has scored in double-figures in five-straight games and is now tied for the team lead in scoring with 14.5 PPG this season.
Hemphill joins
JayQuan McCloud (Nov. 19) as GB players to claim the weekly award this season.
The Phoenix, which has won four of its last five games, will visit Bowling Green this Saturday night.
