GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – The Green Bay softball team earned its first victory of the 2018 campaign on Saturday afternoon in the UNI Dome Classic, downing UMKC 7-6 before falling to Drake, 6-0, to conclude Day Two.

Green Bay set the tone in the opening frame by plating three runs, with
Allie Hislope drawing a walk to bring in
Olivia Magaldi to get things started.
Aubrey Drohner reached on a fielder's choice to plate
Chyanne Onstad and
Morgan Bihun singled to left to bring
Jaclyn Delagrange around to score.
Onstad kept the Phoenix offense rolling in the second by knocking Magaldi in to increase Green Bay's advantage to 4-0.
UMKC began chipping away at the deficit with two runs in the third, but Green Bay matched the Roos in the bottom of the inning after
Alexis Otto homered to right-center field with
Crystal Guzman on the base pads.
UMKC attempted to rally in the final frame and scored four runs, making it a one-run game with Green Bay needing two outs to secure the victory.
Kayla Schwebke worked out of the jam and claimed her first win in the circle for the Phoenix.
Magaldi and Onstad both went 2-for-3 at the plate for Green Bay, as the duo combined to score three runs and collect one RBI.
Morgan Bihun finished 2-for-4 with a home run.

Drake 6, Green Bay 0
Green Bay took the diamond against Drake for the second-consecutive day and was once again held off the board. The Phoenix managed to notch four hits in the bout, but stranded all runners on-base.
Both teams were scoreless through the first three frames but Drake ended its scoring drought with a two-run fourth inning followed by a four-run fifth inning. The Bulldogs finished with seven hits, two more than its total from yesterday despite being held to five less runs.
Alexis Kinnaird put in 4.2 innings of work in the circle, allowing six hits, six runs and three extra-base hits.
Elizabeth Pautz came on in relief and collected a trio of strikeouts in 1.1 innings pitched.

Green Bay closes out the tournament tomorrow morning at 9:30 a.m. against South Dakota State.
