BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – The Green Bay softball team played two of its five scheduled games on Friday afternoon at the WKU Hilltopper Classic, dropping a tight 1-0 game to Indiana State in the morning before losing 10-0 in five innings to host Western Kentucky. The Phoenix (1-6) will play Toledo tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. before entering bracket play. The four tournament teams will be seeded No. 1 through No. 4 based on their records from the three games of pool play.

Freshman
Kayla Schwebke tossed a great game to open the day, allowing an unearned run and scattering eight hits through seven innings in the circle. Schwebke struck out four batters, and was hitting her spots in her third start of the season. The GB offense was held in check by a trio of Indiana State pitchers, mustering up just two hits.
Allie Hislope was able to reach base three times, registering one of the two hits and drawing two walks.
Bailey Schultz picked up the other hit, one of two singles in the game.
Schwebke was tagged with loss, despite not allowing an earned run in 7.0 innings pitched.

The GB offense was held to just three hits in its second game of the day, with
Chyanne Onstad,
Aubrey Drohner and
Morgan Bihun each picking up a base hit. After the two teams played a scoreless first inning, WKU scored two runs in the second, and four runs each in the third and fourth innings.
Alexis Kinnaird allowed nine earned runs and one unearned run in the game, striking out a pair of batters in 4.0 innings pitched.
