BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) --- The Green Bay softball team wrapped up its weekend action with a win over Indiana in the Hoosier Classic on Sunday afternoon, defeating the hosts 5-2.
Green Bay 5, Indiana 2
The Hoosiers jumped out to an early lead after a double steal allowed Blitz to touch home in the bottom of the first.
However, the Phoenix responded in the following inning after a throwing error on a sacrifice bunt attempt brought in
Sonia Schubert before a bases-loaded walk scored
Crystal Guzman.
Indiana tied the game in the third after a single up the middle brought the Hoosiers' second run of the day to home plate.
Green Bay would take the lead for good in the sixth after a fielding error with two outs extended the inning to set things up for an RBI double by
Olivia Magaldi and a two-run home run by
Chyanne Onstad.
The three-run sixth inning for the Phoenix proved to be the difference maker in the contest, sealing the 5-2 victory and sending Green Bay with its third win of the season.
