DAYTON, Ohio. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) --- The Green Bay softball team earned its first league victory on Saturday afternoon, shutting out the Raiders, 4-0, at WSU Softball Field.
Green Bay 4, Wright State 0
Following two scoreless innings from both teams, Green Bay took control in the third inning with a pair of runs after the Raiders suffered three defensive errors.
Olivia Magaldi and
Chyanne Onstad touched home for the Phoenix in the inning.
Green Bay scored an additional two runs in the following frame after
Sonia Schubert got things started with a triple to left field and Onstad singled to bring her home. Onstad scored a couple at-bats later on a double from
Aubrey Drohner. The Phoenix collected four of its six hits in the fourth inning.
Green Bay outhit the Raiders, 6-3, in the shutout victory and avoided the Wright State sweep with the win.
Kayla Schwebke pitched a complete game and in her seven innings of work struck out a career-high seven batters and allowed zero runs. Onstad, Drohner and
Allie Hislope all collected RBIs on the afternoon.

The Phoenix travels to Iowa for its next matchup, taking on the Hawkeyes on Tuesday in a doubleheader with the first game slated for 2 p.m.
