IOWA CITY, Iowa (GreenBayPhoenix.com) --- The Green Bay softball team fell in both games of its doubleheader against Iowa on Tuesday at Pearl Field in Iowa City. The Phoenix dropped the first game, 9-1, before falling in a tight contest with the Hawkeyes, 3-2.

Iowa 9, Green Bay 1 (6 inn.)
The Hawkeyes broke the game open with a trio of runs in the first inning before plating an additional three in the third to build a 6-0 advantage.

Three-consecutive HBP in the first loaded the bases for Iowa and allowed Mallory Kilian to score before Aralee Bogar delivered a two-RBI single to third. 
 
Allie Wood turned in a two-RBI triple in the second inning before later touching home after Taylor Libby singled to the left side, granting Iowa a 6-0 lead through two frames.

Green Bay plated its only run in the top of the sixth after Morgan Bihun singled to center field to bring home Sonia Schubert, but the Hawkeyes scored three more in the sixth inning on a walk-off RBI triple from Bogar.
 
Iowa finished with 11 hits in the matchup followed closely by the Phoenix with eight.

Iowa 3, Green Bay 2
In game two, Green Bay jumped out to a 2-0 edge in the first with leadoff homer from Chyanne Onstad followed by an RBI double from the bat of Crystal Guzman.
 
The Hawkeyes responded by scoring two runs in the bottom half of the inning.
 
Iowa scored what would eventually be the game-winning run in the second inning off an RBI single by Cheyenne Pratt.

Green Bay will return to the diamond on Friday for a matchup with Horizon League foe, Cleveland State, at 2 p.m. in Cleveland, Ohio. The Phoenix will wrap up the three-game series with a doubleheader against the Vikings on Saturday.
