CLEVELAND, Ohio (GreenBayPhoenix.com) --- Green Bay softball split its doubleheader with Cleveland State on Saturday, falling 3-2 in the first game before claiming the final contest of the series, 7-6. The Phoenix won the series 2-1 and moved to 3-3 in Horizon League play.

Chyanne Onstad jumpstarted the Phoenix offense early in the first game of the afternoon, hitting a home run to center field to claim and a 1-0 edge.

Cleveland State responded with its first run of the game in the following frame, with Gairing hitting a single to right field to score Miokovic and tie the game at one-all. The Vikings grabbed an advantage shortly after on another single from Joecken to center field that plated Gray.

The Vikings score what would eventually be the game-winning run in the fourth when Joecken picked up her second RBI with a single to right that brought Gairing home.

Green Bay scored its final run of the game in the sixth when
Emily Madeiros grounded out to second base, bringing
Bailey Schultz home and cutting the Vikings' advantage to one run.

Cleveland State kept GB off the board in the final inning to claim a 3-2 victory.

Allie Hislope put the Phoenix on top in the second inning with a solo home run to left field, the first of what would be a season-high three home runs in the contest.

After both teams touched home in the third frame, Green Bay doubled its advantage in the fourth inning, 3-1, after
Olivia Magaldi singled to left-center to score
Sonia Schubert.
Â
The Vikings took its first lead in the fifth inning when a trio of runs crossed home plate, placing the Phoenix at a 4-3 disadvantage.

Green Bay put four on the board in the fifth, ignited by a home run to left-center from
Morgan Bihun that tied the game, 4-4. A two-RBI double from Magaldi and an RBI single off the bat of Onstad put Green Bay in front, 7-4 with two framed left.

Cleveland State threatened late and scored one run, but the Phoenix defense staved off the attack to secure a 7-6 win and claim the series, 2-1.

Green Bay finished with a season-high 15 hits, three home runs. Onstad went 3-for-4 at the plate with an RBI, while
Aubrey Drohner, Bihun, Madeiros, Hislope and Magaldi all finished with two hits in game two.
