INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) --- The Green Bay softball team split on Thursday afternoon at IUPUI, falling in the first game, 9-1, before bouncing back with a 7-3 victory.

IUPUI 9, Green Bay 1 (6 innings)
The Jaguars plated two runs in the first inning to break things open in Thursday's doubleheader, followed by a trio of runs over the next three innings to lead things 5-0 heading into the fifth.

Green Bay put its first run on the board in the top of the fifth when
Alexis Otto singled through the left side to bring
Emily Madeiros home.
Â
IUPUI scored four unanswered runs to secure a 9-1 win, enforcing the run-rule after six innings.

After finding itself down early in game one, the Phoenix struck first in game two after
Crystal Guzman singled up the middle to plate
Sonia Schubert.
Â
The Phoenix continued its scoring barrage in the third inning, bringing home three runs to lead things 4-0 in the early going.
Â
An additional three runs touched home in the fifth inning for Green Bay after Guzman tripled to right center allowing Schubert, Otto and Madeiros to score.
Â
The Phoenix closed out the game in the seventh inning after allowing the Jaguars to score only two runs, securing a 7-3 victory to wrap up the series.

Green Bay has the weekend off but will return to the diamond next Wednesday when the Phoenix takes on Wisconsin in a doubleheader at Madison.
