CHICAGO, Ill. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) --- Green Bay softball suffered a pair of losses as it battled league-leading UIC on the road Tuesday afternoon, dropping a tight contest, 3-2, to open the series before falling in game two, 10-3.

UIC 3, GREEN BAY 2
Green Bay was on top early against the team with the best record in the Horizon League, as
Chyanne Onstad used a grounder to second to plate
Sonia Schubert in the third frame.
Â
Three runs in the sixth inning for the Flames put Green Bay at a two-run deficit with only a single inning left in the contest.
Â
The Phoenix battled in its final plate appearances, scoring one run after Onstad singled through the left side to collect her second RBI, once again scoring Schubert.
Â
UIC never let Green Bay pull even and held on for a 3-2 victory.

UIC 10, GREEN BAY 3
The Flames tabbed one run in each of the first two innings, jumping out to an early 2-0 advantage after the first couple frames.

Green Bay evened the score with one run in both the third and fourth innings, tying the game at 2-2 after RBIs from
Olivia Magaldi and
Crystal Guzman.

UIC regained the lead in the top of the fifth and never looked back, working its way to a 10-2 advantage as the teams headed to the final inning of play.

The Phoenix once again put a run on the board with its final at-bats but was unable to extend the game, falling 10-3 in the second matchup.
