YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (GreenBayPhoenix.com) --- Green Bay opened a three-game series at Youngstown State on Friday afternoon, holding a 1-0 advantage most of the game before falling late after defensive errors in the final frame, 2-1.

Green Bay took an early lead after a one-run home run from
Chyanne Onstad in the first inning, a lead it would carry into the final frame.

After recording outs on the first two plate appearances by the Penguins in the seventh, a double off the left-field fence kept the inning alive for YSU.

The Penguins' Lacatena singled to center field to tie the game and advanced to second on a throwing error, putting the game-winning run in scoring position.Â

The next at-bat belonged to Yazmine Romero, who reached on an error and moved Lacatena to third.

Lacatena, the game-winning run, scored on the next plate appearance after another fielding error by the Phoenix.

YSU notched its eighth-straight win in the victory, while Green Bay fell to 6-11 in league play.

Kayla Schwebke was nearly flawless in the circle for Green Bay despite being tagged with the loss, as the freshman threw the full game and allowed only five hits while fanning 10 batters.
