GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) --- The Green Bay women's soccer team will be competing in their first away game of the 2018 season tomorrow against the Michigan State Spartans, before returning home for a matchup with Eastern Illinois on Sunday at 3 p.m.
The Phoenix have a record of 0-2, but have not yet allowed a shutout in the regular season, scoring a goal in each game against both Valparaiso (view the recap
HERE) and North Dakota State (view the recap
HERE). Freshman
McKayla Kertscher will be one to watch, helping in each Green Bay goal. She currently owns one goal and one assist this season. Senior
Alycia Wright owns the other team goal, while redshirt senior
Brianna Messner has an assist.
The Spartans currently are undefeated in regular season play after taking on Southern Utah and Boston University last weekend. Both of Michigan State's opponents were bested 2-0, with MSU's Misiewicz scoring three of the four total team goals so far, meaning that the Phoenix defense will have to be on guard for the junior midfielder.
