GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – Green Bay women's soccer will take the field against its first Horizon League opponent of the season this Saturday as they take on Northern Kentucky at Aldo Santaga Stadium. Kickoff is set for 1pm CT, marking the start of the first-annual Soctoberfest.
The Norse (4-3) come into the game following a 0-2 loss against #22 Butler. Juniors Emily Soltes and Shawna Zaken, and freshman Chloe Mills each scored two goals for the Norse so far this season.
The Phoenix (2-6) head into Saturday's game after falling 1-4 at South Dakota. Freshman midfielder
McKayla Kertscher leads the Phoenix with three goals on the season, followed by redshirt senior
Brianna Messner with two goals. Junior goalie
Courtney Klatt ranks second in the league for saves per game, averaging 5.80.
Northern Kentucky holds a 3-0 lead on the series against the Phoenix. Saturday's game also kicks off the first annual Soctoberfest, a celebration of Green Bay soccer. The tailgate party will begin after the conclusion of the women's game, followed by the men's game against Northern Kentucky at 7pm CT.
