Women's Soccer Hits the Road for Battle at Wright State

GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – The Green Bay women's soccer team hits the road for its second Horizon League matchup of the season this weekend, taking on Wright State Saturday at 6 p.m. at Alumni Field.

The Raiders return to Alumni Field for the first time since September 2, when they fell to Indiana State 2-0. Wright State opened HL play with Oakland in a match that was mostly controlled by the host Golden Grizzlies, but the Raiders managed to find the back of the net in the 74th minute and escape with the 1-0 victory.  Wright State enters the weekend at 2-5-1 but boasts a two-game winning streak in preparation for the Phoenix.

Green Bay owns a similar overall mark to Wright State at 2-7 but has enjoyed nearly double the amount of offensive production. The Raiders have only managed to find the back of the net five times this season, while the Phoenix enters the weekend one goal away from reaching double digits. The defensive performances have been similar between the two squads, with GB allowing 21 goals this season and WSU giving up 18.

After facing the Raiders this weekend, Green Bay will return to the pitch on Wednesday, Sept. 26 for a matchup with in-state rival Milwaukee at Aldo Santaga Stadium.
