DAYTON, Ohio (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – The Green Bay women's soccer team scored late to match Wright State, 1-1, and force extra time, but the host Raiders prevailed in overtime after Jordyne Helinski found the back of the Phoenix net for the game-winning goal in the 96th minute.

The first half played out with the defenses from both teams holding the opposing offense off the board, but early in the second half WSU's Mattie Cutts spoiled the shutout with a goal in the 49th minute of action.

Wright State (3-5-1, 2-0-0) held Green Bay (2-8-0, 0-2-0) scoreless for the next 20-plus minutes until Alycia Wright tied the game for the Phoenix with her third goal of the season after teammate McKayla Kertscher moved the ball to Wright in the 72nd minute.

Neither team was able to end the game in regulation as the clock reached 90 minutes with the score knotted at one-all.

Just over five minutes into the overtime period, Wright State managed to net the golden goal after Aaliyah Patten found Helinski for the game winner, sealing the second-straight league win for the Raiders.

The matchup was relatively even on both ends of the field, with WSU owning a slight advantage over GB in shots at 13-8. The Raiders enjoyed a more substantial edge in shots-on-goal at 8-2, while the Phoenix was favored in corner kicks, 6-1.

Green Bay is back in action at home on Wednesday to host in-state rival Milwaukee at Aldo Santaga Stadium for a 7 p.m. kickoff. The game is part of the 'GB Gear-Up Games' series and will offer jersey rally towels and pretzel bites to the 400 students in attendance.
