GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) --- Already serving as one of the premiere venues in the Horizon League and in the state of Wisconsin, the Kress Center will be getting a dramatic digital upgrade in the coming weeks with a high definition video board and digital scorer's table debuting this season. Fans of Green Bay basketball and volleyball, along with future graduates and UW-Green Bay students, will have an exciting new digital experience starting in 2018-19.
A Daktronics state-of-the-art digital video board, measuring approximately 40 feet wide and 20 feet tall, will be featured on the east side wall in place of the previous scoreboard. Also adding to the new digital infrastructure will be 40 feet of digital LED tables, which will be located in place of the previous scorer's table between the team benches. The displays can show any combination of live video, instant replays, game statistics and information, graphics and animations, and sponsorship messages.
"While it is essential we continue to focus on enriching our existing first-class facilities for student athletes, we also needed to enhance the experience and interaction of external audiences visiting the Kress Center," said Director of Athletics
Charles Guthrie. "A special thank you to the Student Government Association, Vice Chancellor Eric Arneson and Vice Chancellor CFO Sheryl Van Gruensven and her team for supporting this endeavor from start to finish. This new scoreboard system will deliver high impact instant replays, fan-cams, interactive games and live viewing, bringing a modernized approach to Phoenix Athletics and Kress Center special events."
Enhancing the gameday experience and atmosphere, the main videoboard and tables will feature a 6mm video display, which will be in a 16:9 HD standard ratio. The board and tables will make its official debut on Friday, Oct. 5, for a Green Bay women's volleyball match versus Oakland. That game will start at 6 p.m. and fans can purchase tickets at the box office on gameday, or by calling
920-465-2625 ahead of the match.

The Kress Events Center welcomes over 200,000 visitors per year for Phoenix men's and women's basketball, volleyball, graduations, cheer and high school competitions and more. The venue opened its doors in 2007 and these new additions serve as the first significant digital upgrades since that time.
