ROCHESTER, Mich. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – The Green Bay women's soccer team held strong on the road Saturday night for its first positive result of the Horizon League season, working to a scoreless draw at Oakland.
Oakland's (1-9-2, 1-1-2) offense recorded more shots in the pairing at 14-3, but the Phoenix backline impressed by allowing only five shots on net.
Kelly Kent managed to stop all Golden Grizzlies' attempts and earn a clean sheet.
McKayla Kertscher tallied two shots and placed one attempts on-goal in 110 minutes on the pitch, while teammate
Carli Vogel recorded the only other Phoenix shot attempt.
Green Bay moved to 2-9-1 on the season and 0-3-1 in HL play following the result.
The Phoenix returns to league play next weekend at Cleveland State to take on the Vikings at 12 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.
