GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) --- Karly Murphy led Green Bay past Central Michigan to open the season with a career-high 30 points and nine rebounds. The Phoenix defeated the Chippewas 111-105 in double overtime and won its season opener for the 11th time in 12 years. The 111 points scored by Green Bay is the second highest in program history. Murphy averaged 21.0 PPG and 7.5 rebounds in the first week of play, as GB battled two teams who advanced to the NCAA Tournament last season.
The Phoenix takes the court at the Kress Center once again this weekend, as the team welcomes Missouri on Saturday at 1 p.m.
