Michael Carreon sealed a Phoenix victory, 1-0, and the right to host a quarterfinal matchup in the Horizon League Tournament.
Green Bay enters the final weekend of Horizon League action with 12 points and sits in third place, owning the tiebreaker with Cleveland State and Wright State.
GB improved to 5-7-2 and 4-4 in conference action following the victory. Goalkeeper
Jamison Yoder defended 22 Raiders shots and tallied six saves in the contest.
The Phoenix placed two shots on goal while the hosts placed six in the pairing. The Raiders had an opportunity to tie the match in the 89th minute on a penalty kick, but the sure hands of Yoder saved the day and preserved the victory for Green Bay.
Following the win, Green Bay has solidified a quarterfinal fixture at home. The Phoenix owns a bye as the league slate enters its final weekend of play and will await the conference results.
Although GB won't take the pitch in HL action, the Phoenix welcomes Eastern Illinois to Aldo Santaga Stadium for a 7 p.m. kickoff on Tuesday.
