INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. –The Horizon League announced the 2019 volleyball all-league awards Thursday afternoon, with three different members of the Phoenix being recognized.  Junior Taylor Wolf was named Player of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year, while senior Maddie Yoss was named Setter of the Year in the conference.  Freshman Brenna Hesse earned herself a selection on the All-Freshman team as well for Green Bay.

Wolf is officially back-to-back Player of the Year and Offensive Player of Year after another impressive season.  She led the Horizon League in multiple categories, which included kills (476), kills per set (4.45), points (539.5) and points per set (5.04).  To put these numbers into perspective, in NCAA Division I, Wolf ranks 11th in points, 12th in kills, 20th in points per set, and 21st in kills per set.  Additionally, the junior led Green Bay in aces, while also being second on the team in digs and third in blocks.

Yoss also earned herself back-to-back Setter of the Year and First-Team All-League honors for the Phoenix.  The senior led the Horizon League in assists (1,134) with the next closest setter being over 100 behind her.  Additionally, her 10.60 assists per set was the only double-digit average in the Horizon League.  In NCAA Division I, Yoss ranks 15th in assists and 43rd in assists-per-set.  The senior was also second on Green Bay in aces, third in digs and fourth in blocks.

Hesse was named to the league's All-Freshman team after being the steady hand for the backline of the Phoenix.  Not only was she the only libero/defensive specialist on Green Bay to play in all 107 sets during the season, but she led the squad in digs and digs per set as well.  In addition, the freshman's 434 digs put her sixth-overall in the conference.  Hesse is only the 13th player in program history to earn Horizon League All-Freshman honors.
