QUICK HITS

HAPPY TO BE HOME
GB has enjoyed success at home in Horizon League play this season, owning a 4-1 record compared to the 2-5 record on the road. The team is averaging 87.8 PPG in those home league games and has a +4.4 turnover margin. Sandy Cohen III has had the most success at home, averaging 20.4 PPG, 7.0 RPG and just over 4 assists per game. Three other players are also averaging double-figures at home in league play, with JayQuan McCloud (19.2 PPG), ShanQuan Hemphill (11.4 PPG) and Kameron Hankerson (10.8 PPG) all putting up strong numbers. GB has scored 90 or more points in four out of five games at home.

GOTTA GET 90
The 90 point threshold has paid dividends for GB this season, with the team owning a perfect 8-0 record when it scores 90 or more points. GB has scored exactly 90 points three times in HL play this season, and scored 92 and 99 in the other two HL victories, owning a 5-0 record in HL play alone. The Phoenix still leads the HL in scoring with 826 PPG.

ANALYTICS UPDATE
Since head coach Linc Darner took over the program, GB has consistently ranked near the top of the NCAA in the KenPom Adjusted Tempo statistic, which accounts for the number of possessions in a 40-minute game. This year, GB ranks 8th in the NCAA in that category. The team is 217th in the KenPom overall ratings and is 225th in the NET rankings. Oakland is 231 and Detroit Mercy is 218 in the updated NET rankings.

GOING TO BE INTERESTING
The Horizon League has been uber competitive this year, with the Phoenix sitting at 6-6 and tied for fifth, which makes them just one game out of third place and a half game out of eighth. The top 8 teams will make the HL Tournament this year, with No. 1, No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 hosting Quarterfinal round games. The final six games will decide whether or not GB will get a home game in that do-or-die Quarterfinal game. GB is 0-4 this year against the four teams it will play at home to end the regular season, getting a chance at revenge.

SECOND TIME AROUND
The Motor City road trip was unkind to GB earlier this season, falling 101-83 and 90-78 at Detroit Mercy and Oakland respectively. The two opponents shot over 54 percent combined in those two games and averaged 12 made 3-pointers as well. In his return to his home region, Kameron Hankerson led GB in those two games by averaging 18.0 PPG. In both games, GB was within one possession late in the first half and even led by two points at the half at Oakland. GB has only been swept by Oakland once since they joined the HL and haven't been swept by Detroit Mercy since the 2011-12 season.
