QUICK HITS

HOW GB CAN CLINCH
At 9-7 and in a 3-way tie for third place with Oakland and UIC, GB is in a strong position to host a Horizon League Tournament Quarterfinal game next Tuesday night at the Resch Center. GB can clinch a home game with a win over Wright State and losses by UIC (at Oakland) and IUPUI (at Detroit Mercy) on Thursday night. Even with a loss on Thursday night, GB can still get into the top 4 with a win on Saturday against Northern Kentucky.

GETTING DEFENSIVE
Normally known for its offensive numbers, Green Bay has been getting it done on the defensive end over the last four games, having gone 3-1 in those games thanks to a scoring defense average of 67.0 PPG. That number would rank tops in the Horizon League today, better than Wright State's 67.7 PPG allowed defensively. Over those last four games, GB is holding its opponents to 39.4 percent shooting from the field and 29.1 percent from 3-point range, both numbers would rank best in the HL as well. GB won two of those games by scoring in the 60s.

PUSHING THE BALL
As of Feb. 27, Green Bay ranks 9th in the NCAA in the adjusted tempo rating on KenPom, which is a statistic that counts the number of offensive possessions in a 40-minute game. GB is averaging 74.2 possessions per game, which is just 0.7 possessions away from being top 3 in the NCAA. GB has finished in the top 15 in each of Darner's seasons at the helm.

SUPER SANDY
Senior Sandy Cohen III has been scoring in bunches since the start of February, having now scored in double-figures in seven-straight games. Cohen has scored 20 points or more in two out of his last 3 games, and has grabbed at least 6 rebounds in those games as well. Cohen ranks 4th in the HL in scoring at 17.4 PPG and still leads his team in every major statistical category as we enter the final two games of the regular season. Cohen will be a strong candidate for First Team All-Horizon League honors, which will be released next week.

APPROACHING 10 HL WINS
With one victory this week, Green Bay will hit the 10-win mark in Horizon League play, which would mark the third time in four seasons under head coach Linc Darner that the team has won at least 10 league games and finished in the top 4 of the league standings. GB would join Wright State (4x), Nothern Kentucky (3x) and potentially Oakland, if they were to win one more game this week as well.
