GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) --- Green Bay cruised to victory on Thursday evening at the Kress Center, handedly defeating Northern Kentucky 70-42 to move to 9-2 in Horizon League play.
Frankie Wurtz made her return to the hardwood for the second-straight game and made her presence known early and often, leading all scorers with a game-high 13 points on a 5-for-9 effort from the field.
The win was a complete team effort for the Phoenix, with four members in double figures. Joining Wurtz with double-digit efforts was
Laken James,
Lyndsey Robson and
Madison Wolf, who all scored 10 points apiece.
Carly Mohns added nine points and
Jen Wellnitz six points, four rebounds, four assists and two steals.
Next up for Green Bay is league-leading Wright State, as the Raiders will enter Saturday's matchup with an 11-1 record. The game is also GB's annual PinkZone game, where in-game efforts will be held to raise funds for Ribbon of Hope, including an
already active online jersey auction.
