MARTIN, Tenn. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) --- Green Bay finished the Skyhawk Classic on a high note on Sunday afternoon, taking down Akron, 8-2, to move to 2-3 in the five-game classic.

The Akron offense struck first against Green Bay for the second time this weekend, as a Zips single up the middle led off the third inning, which was followed by a SAC bunt and a stolen base to advance the runner to third. Akron then brought home its first run of the day on a throwing error by the Phoenix defense.
Green Bay answered by rattled off eight-straight runs to hold an 8-1 advantage heading into the final Akron at-bats. Six members of the Phoenix tallied multi-hit games, highlighted by a 3-for-4 performance at the plate from
Bailey Schultz who also tallied an RBI.
Six of Green Bay's eight runs came in the sixth inning of play; an inning highlighted by eight Phoenix hits and 11 at-bats.
Green Bay went into the final inning with an 8-1 lead and after allowing only a single Akron run, the Phoenix concluded its action in the classic with an 8-2 win.
Kayla Schwebke was in the circle for all seven innings of the victory, allowing only three hits and one earned run while striking out two batters.
Green Bay will take the diamond in Lawrence, Kan., for its next matchup, as the Phoenix takes on Kasnas on Friday, March 22 at 5 p.m.
