GREEN BAY (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – The Green Bay softball team was unable to put any points on the board in the first game of their final regular season series, falling 4-0 on Friday afternoon at home to the Youngstown State Penguins.
Youngstown State 4, Green Bay 0
Green Bay hung even with the Penguins for the first three innings, but were unable to make any ground after YSU scored two runs each in the fourth and fifth. The Phoenix only notched two hits: one by
Bailey Schultz in the first and one from
Morgan Bihun in the fourth.
Although Youngstown State only collected three more hits than GB, their batting power was a notch above the Phoenix as the Penguins threw down two home runs, one solo and the other earning two RBIs.
Green Bay will round out both the series and the final homestand of the season with YSU tomorrow with a doubleheader. The first pitch of the day will be thrown out at 12 p.m. at Circle Tap.
