GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – Following another successful campaign in the classroom, the Green Bay women's basketball program has secured a spot on the WBCA's 2018-19 Academic Top 25, finishing in eighth place with a 3.641 GPA.
It is the program's fifth-straight appearance on the honor roll and 15th overall. It is also the program's third-straight appearance inside the top 10, with Green Bay claiming the nation's No. 1 spot in the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons.
Green Bay was one of two Horizon League women's basketball programs represented in the top 25, as Youngstown State joined the Phoenix on the poll at the No. 7 slot.
"The WBCA is pleased to recognize those women's basketball programs that have committed themselves to excellence on the court and in the classroom," said WBCA Executive Director Danielle Donehew. "The 117 teams we honor this year strive to achieve all-around success and we commend their efforts. Congratulations!"
The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes NCAA Division I, II and III, NAIA and two-year GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. The 2018-19 season is the 24th in which the WBCA has compiled the honor rolls.
